Lake Eola is where locals unwind in downtown Orlando. Run or stroll the scenic mile trail while taking in the multiple art installations. Feed the famous white and black swans or the ducks & geese (they all love lettuce, Publix is across the street). Rent a swan boat and get an up close view of the iconic fountain (romantic sunsets). Nightly fountain & light shows set to music at 8pm & 9:30pm. There is a playground for kids and shore front restaurants & bars including the very popular patio at WOB. The Farmer's Market is every Sunday from 10am - 4pm and Yoga in the Park at 11am is open to all. There are concerts, plays & movies at the Walt Disney Ampitheater. There's no place with a vibe quite like Wekiva Island. A real local's spot to enjoy the natural spring and Florida wildlife. Swim or rent a Kayak or Paddle Board to enjoy the constant 72' water. Rent a Cabana and BBQ, or just take in the scene in a spring side Adirondack Lounge Chair. Play beach Volleyball, Cornhole or have a beer from the many taps at the bar. The Without a Paddle food truck has burgers, fish, tacos, bbq & vegan options. Some of the best local musicians on Friday and Sturday nights, check their Event Calendar. Entry fee is $2 per person but most times they do not bother collecting it. This place is very popular on the weekends and has an occupancy limit, so prepare to get there before Noon on Holiday weekends.
A picturesque setting is what you will experience at Blue Spring State Park , a 40 minute drive North from downtown Orlando. Hike along the 4.5 mile wooden path suspended above the forest. Swim, scuba, paddle board or kayack among the fish, birds and other wildlife. RV and Camping facilities. On colder winter days when temps drop below 40' you can see up to 500 manatees enjoying the constant 72' spring water. Park entry is a bargain at $6 per vehicle. Open from 8AM til sunset, 365 days a year.
